Edna L. Concert

 

Edna L Concert, Scranton, passed away on Monday, December 8th at Green Ridge Care Center after a brief illness surrounded by family. Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, daughter of the late Harold & Edna Faust Wheary. She resided in New Jersey until 1978 when she relocated to Pennsylvania. Surviving are lifelong companion John Papp, children Tracy Krah husband Robert, Susan Shelp husband Rich Scranton, Barbara Firestone Throop, Henry Firestone wife Lisa Scranton, Kathleen Firestone Ft Myers, Lawrence DeLancey Old Forge. She also raised as her own Ethel Patterson (niece) husband Tony, Melissa Wasilko (niece) husband Harry and Cole Concert (stepson). Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, two sisters Priscilla Arrington Florida, and Rosetta Fiestel Scranton. She was preceded in death by great grandson Juan, two brothers Charles and an infant, two sisters Harriett and Nancy. Edna loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren unconditionally. They were her whole world. She enjoyed the holidays and family cook outs when the family got together to celebrate. Her favorite pastime was baking cutout sugar cookies in the shapes of hearts, pumpkins, turkeys, christmas trees, santa faces, stars, etc and lets not forget the santa boots. Each grandkid had their favorite, each decorated to perfection. The family would also like to extend their sincere thanks for the compassionate care she received from everyone at Green Ridge Care Center. Friends and family can pay their respects on December 20th from 2pm to 4pm in the McGoff-Hughes Funeral Home, 1401 Capouse Avenue, Scranton, PA. A blessing service will be held at 4:00pm by Pastor Jack Munley.
