Doris A. Bray

 

Doris A. Bray, 91, late of Tennessee, formerly of Factoryville and Clarks Summit, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2023 in Hendersonville, TN after an illness. Born in Moscow, PA in 1931, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Elizabeth Fowler Regan, and the widow of William R. Bray. A graduate of Saint Ann High School, Doris was formally employed by Lackawanna Trail Elementary School for several years as well as Tyler Memorial Hospital for many years. She also worked as a private health care worker. Doris was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In addition to Gramma, she was lovingly referred to as Hink by some of her grands and greats. She had a great personality enabling her to form many friendships and seemed to remember everyone she ever met. Her sense of humor was second to none and will allow family and friends to always remember her with a full heart and a smile. She touched so many lives. Surviving are six sons, Michael, Billy, David (Gill), Charles (Sharon), Chris (Teresa) and Jim (Karyn) one daughter, Maribeth Holly, 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two grandsons, three brothers, John, Richard and Tommy, three sisters, Mary, Sister Marie Elise IHM and infant sister Katherine. A mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, May 26, 2023 in St. Anns Basilica, 1250 St. Ann Street, Scranton. Family and friends may call from 10 am to 11 am in the church. Interment St. Catherine Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to IHM Retirement Fund. Arrangements by the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home, 1240 St. Ann Street Scranton, PA.
