Dorene Wince, 67, of Ransom Twp., left this world on Nov. 14, surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with COPD.
Dorene was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. In 1976, Dorene met Michael Wince on a blind date, and were later married. They had three children, Melissa, Michael and Matthew, and recently celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary.
Born Nov. 6, 1956, to the late Delores Angerson and Steve Orchard, she was born in El Paso, Texas, and graduated from Lackawanna Trail High School. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and cooking. Dorene was often found on the road traveling and camping with loved ones. She was known for her famous bread pudding, cranberry sauce, macaroni salad and cakes were made every Sunday.
She is survived by daughter, Melissa and husband, Corey Christian; sons, Michael and wife, Heather; and Matthew and wife, Kristen; siblings, Raymond Orchard, Dorothy Powell and Jeffery Orchard; grandchildren, Kayla, Brianna, Collin, Natalie, Justin, Joshua, Thomas and Rebecca; and great-grandchildren, Carter, Scarlette, Gavin Jr. and Jaxson.
Arrangements by Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann's St., Scranton.
Contributions to Hospice of the Sacred Heart are appreciated in lieu of flowers.
