David John Deshler, 27, of Scranton, Pa., son of the late Kimberly Deshler and Charles Grant, he was a graduate of Scranton High School, he died Monday, March 13 at GCMC after a fatal gunshot wound. David will live on through others as he was an organ donor. He was currently employed at St. Joseph’s Center as a personal care assistant. David loved his residents and enjoyed working with his coworkers. David had a wonderful personality and a heart of Gold, with a great sense of humor who could easily make anyone laugh. He was the brightest star in our lives and now the brightest star in the sky. Also surviving are three children, Isabella Deshler, Josiah Deshler, and Theodore Deshler. Brothers, Mike, Charles, and Leroy; and one sister, Oralee. Three nephews, Malachi, Honor and Lesane; and one niece, Asenchen. One aunt, Kathi and husband Joe; one uncle, John Bates; three cousins, Maddie, Marquese, and Shaheeda; and many other family members. David was preceded in death by his mother, Kimberly. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 24 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home, St. Ann Street, Scranton. Family and friends may pay their respects from 2 to 5 p.m. with services to follow.
