Daniel Kozlowski

Daniel Kozlowski, 74, of Scranton, gained his wings at home surrounded by his family. He leaves behind a wife, Romayne Kozlowski, who just celebrated their 55th anniversary at Thomas Jefferson together. Born in Throop, he was the son of the late Chester and Florence Zamushinski Kozlowski. He worked for many years for the DPW and after his retirement, Danny seemed to hit his mid-life crisis. Not being able to sit still and always pushing with a smile on his face, he completed his first goal of becoming employee of the year while working part time at Sams Club where he was treated like a king. He went on to pulling all nighters at the campground to becoming the beer pong champ. Everyone knew Danny as “papa” or the next NCIS agent. He was a wonderful husband, papa, brother, father and friend. His biggest joys in life were his great grandchildren and his camper. Back in 2006, he became a seasonal camper where his camping friends turned into family. Danny also enjoyed golfing with his late son, along with fishing. He then continued his fishing trips with his brother-in-law, grandchildren, and great granddaughter. Surviving are a sister, Karen Loss and husband Paul Loss, Scranton, a daughter, Debbie Davis and Jeff, Elysburg, grandchildren, Jeffrey Davis and fiancé Bianca, Elysburg, Kristi Kozlowski, grandson in law, Frank Karluk, Scranton, Joseph Davis, Elysburg, Kyanna Kozlowski, Scranton, Jacob Davis, Elysburg, great grandchildren, Natalie and Nathan, Scranton, Matthew, Elysburg, and Reymond, Scranton. Also surviving, brother-in-law, Michael Burke and wife Patricia, Scranton. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Joseph Kozlowski Jr. and two brothers, Chester and Gary Kozlowski. Private at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home, 1240 Saint Ann Street, Scranton, PA 18504.

Our deepest condolences to all of the family. Danny was special friend to our family and will live forever in our hearts. The countless hours we spent camping with him are our fondest memories. I’m sure he is sitting at a campfire in heaven having a cold one right now. Rest in peace Danny. We will miss you and all the fun we had over the years. Thank you for being there for my boys while they were growing up.
