Chester Tomarelli

 

Chester M. Tomarelli, 80, of Scranton, died Sunday at Golden Living. His wife is the former Marilyn A. Ferraro. Born in Scranton, son of the late Chester Tomarelli and Theresa Monahan, he was educated in Scranton schools and member of St. Paul’s Church. Chester had a very strong faith and loved to read the Bible. He served in United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Chester was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed watching sports. Also surviving are two sons, Joe and wife Peggy, Ocean Pines MD; and Michael and wife Kori; two daughters, Lily Ann Faris and husband Carl; and Christine Biel, all of Scranton; 5 grandchildren, Christopher Tomarelli, Jennifer Faris Woytach, and Sara, Michael, and Brian Faris; 5 great-grandchildren, Liam, Anthony, Asia, Aaliyah, and Luke; 2 brothers, John and Michael Monahan; 2 sisters, Patricia Gelfand and Mary Good; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Monahan; and a sister Eileen Baker. The funeral will be Thursday at 9:30am in St. Paul's Church, Penn Ave. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-7pm at the McGoff-Hughes Funeral Home, Inc., 1401 Capouse Ave., Scranton
