
Carmella Lozinger, 86, of Scranton, died June 1 at Regional Hospital of Scranton after a brief illness. She was the widow of Joseph Lozinger.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late James and Trisa Micciche, she attended Dunmore High School. Carmella was a homemaker and lifelong member of St. Ann's Parish, where she loved being a member of the Ladies of the Basilica. Involved since it was established, Carmella participated in all the events at the church as long as her health allowed. Volunteering at the annual summer Novena was equally important to her. She treasured all of the friends she made at St. Ann's.
Surviving are her niece, Elizabeth Salvaggio, of Jordan, Utah; nephew, Joseph J. Salvaggio and wife, Mary Kay, Ransom; great-niece, Katie Evans; great-nephew, Pat Salvaggio and wife, Carla; and great-great-nephews, Nicolas Evans and Dylan Salvaggio.
She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Lozinger Jr. and his wife, Kathleen; and sister, Mary Salvaggio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Ann's Basilica. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
