Brian Joseph "Slim" Rokita

July 5, 1986 to August 1, 2026

Brian Joseph “Slim” Rokita, 40, of Jermyn, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with heart complications. He was born in Scranton; PA. Brian grew up in Jermyn/Mayfield and attended various schools including Lakeland and Mid Valley, before enlisting in the ARMY on and becoming a badass highly decorated Infantryman Purple Heart recipient and a member of 82nd airborne division at Fort Bragg and then stationed at Fort Campbell where he was deployed to Afghanistan. Brian was known for having the most understanding and forgiving heart even through all the hardships he endeared throughout the years. He is survived by 5 siblings, his mother, and most importantly, his son Kellin Rokita. Services will be held August 7th at 11-1 at McGoff-Hughes Funeral home, with military burial services at Primitive Methodist Cemetery in Dickson City where he will be laid to rest with his Grandma Shirley and his energy can go back into the earth as his final wish.
