William Nowakowski, 61, of Scranton, died Friday at home. Born in Scranton, son of the late Raymond and Mary Nowakowski, he was a graduate of West Scranton High School and employed by Kriger Pipeline. Billy enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding quads. He was a loving brother, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed. Surviving are three brothers, Thomas Nowakowski, Scranton; Joseph Nowakowski and wife, Eileen, Canadensis; and Michael Nowakowski and wife, Ellen, Scranton; and several nieces and nephews, especially Courtney and Kayla, who cared for Billy during his illness. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Nowakowski Jr.; and sisters-in-law, Debi and Mary Kay. Per Billy’s wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements by Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann St., Scranton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart.
