Bernadette A. Laffey (Berna), 91, passed away Sunday, April 28 at the home of her niece and caregiver, Mary Jean Manley, after an illness.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Genieve May Laffey.
Surviving are nieces and nephews, Mary Jean Manley, William M. Manley R.Ph, Catherine A. Fitzpatrick and William J. Laffey. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jean M. Manley; and two brothers, John J. Laffey and Thomas Laffey.
Berna retired from Emery Air Freight in 1996 after working there for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, 1403 Jackson St., Scranton, Pa.
Family and friends may pay their respects Thursday, May 2nd from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Entombment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be given in Berna’s name to St. Patrick’s Food Pantry. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home, 1240 St. Ann St., Scranton, Pa.
