
Barbara O’Hara, 88, passed away Monday at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Ned Dempsey. She was the widow of James P. O’Hara, who died July 2, 1995.
Born and raised in Minooka, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Esther Parfitt Donovan. Barbara attended Minooka High School until its closing in 1952 and went on to graduate from Technical High School on June 16, 1953. She completed a course in comptometer school. Prior to her retirement, she worked at General Electric and Topps Chewing Gum. Barbara was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 229 and was a lifetime member of Divine Mercy Parish.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Dempsey and husband, Ned, Dunmore; four grandchildren, Ned and wife, Quinn; Megan and fiancé, Tim O’Malley; Kelly and husband, Doug McCormick; and Maggie; great-grandchildren, Eloise, Aileen and Ned Dempsey; brother, William Donovan and Judy; sister, Donna Howard; and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by sister, Helen Otto; brother-in-law, Billy Howard; and a great-nephew, Eugene Donovan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in Divine Mercy Parish, Davis Street, by the Rev Francis Pauselli, pastor.
Friends may call at the church from 9:30 to 11. Interment, St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Scranton.
Arrangements are under the care of Eagen-Hughes Funeral Home.
