Barbara Ann D’Angelo

 

Barbara Ann D’Angelo passed away on March 26, 2024 at Mid Valley Health Care Center. She was born in Scranton on July 31, 1937, the daughter of the late Thomas and Thelma Bowen Jones. She was married to the late Louis J. D’Angelo, who passed on March 13, 2014. They were married on March 2, 1957. She graduated from West Scranton High School and worked at Acme Fast Freight for 18 years. Barbara and her husband owned and managed Tre-Ann apartments for 34 years. She enjoyed doing all of the necessary work including painting, cleaning and yard work. She loved living in Minooka and maintaining her home and yard. She was a meticulous housekeeper and wonderful cook. She was a devoted member of the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Francis of Assisi Church. She loved doing volunteer work at the church, including the bake sales, pasta dinners and working at the Italian festival. She was a devoted caretaker of her husband for many years. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and never missed an event of theirs. She is survived by her son, Louis T., Scranton, whom she lived with; her daughter, Theresa Pfleckl and husband, Robert; granddaughter, Elena; grandson, Robert Jr. and his girlfriend, Kristen Davis, all of Scranton; Leo and Rita D’Angelo, sister-in-law and brother-in-law; and Frances Lefchak, sister-in-law, all of Scranton; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Gavin. Friends and family may call Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Eagen-Hughes Funeral Home, 2908 Birney Ave., Scranton, Pa., with a blessing service at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday in Nativity of Our Lord Church, 633 Orchard St., Scranton, PA 18505. Entombment, Cathedral Cemetery.

We are so sorry about aunt Barb, so many happy and fun memories with aunt Barb and uncle Louie. She and uncle Louie were such kind people. She touched a lot of lives with her thoughtfulness and her kindness.
