Ann Juan “Ang” Genardi

December 21, 1931 to December 18, 2022

Ann Juan “Ang” Genardi, 90, formerly of Scranton, passed away Sunday at Complete Care in Mercer County, N.J. Born Dec. 21, 1931, in Scranton, daughter of the late James and Helen McDonough, she worked as a nurse for more than 40 years and enjoyed taking care of others. She was also the nursing supervisor at the Scranton State Hospital Ang was a lifelong resident of Scranton until the last few years, when she moved to be closer to her brother. She was a compassionate and kind woman who enjoyed traveling, dining out, walking and going to the movies. Ang and her husband, Patrick Genardi, loved each other more than anything in this world. They enjoyed traveling and visited many places around the world. She was his dedicated caregiver until his death in April 2010. Surviving are her brother, Patrick McDonough, Frenchtown, N.J.; sister-in-law, Clare Genardi, Scranton; nieces, Mina Nace, Frenchtown; Debbie Clark, Clarks Summit; Cathy and Maryjo Granahan, Scranton; Julie Roman, Scranton; and MaryEllen Johnston; nephews, Paul, Patrick and Thomas Genardi; and many great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Divine Mercy Parish, Davis Street, by the Rev. Francis Pauselli, pastor. Interment, St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Scranton. Friends may call at the church starting at 9:30. Arrangements by Eagen-Hughes Funeral Home, 2908 Birney Ave., Scranton.
