Albert was a proud Navy Veteran with 28 combined service years. He loved & respected all animals, especially his beloved cats over the years: Willy, Inky, Spotty & Little Red. He was an avid storyteller, always had a song to share, expressed his love of art through his drawings & enjoyed fishing & hunting. He was a strong man of Faith & a devoted family man.

Albert is survived by a brother Leon L. Smith, cousins, nephews & nieces. He was especially thankful for cousins, Joyce & Debra for their consistent care and to friends Frank, Jeannie & cousin Jerry for phone calls & visits. We are thankful for the staff at Gino Merli for their compassionate care and respect. Albert is finally home with Jesus & free from the pain he endured with Polio most of his life.

I knew Al through the Gino Merli Veterans' Center where I had two art residency programs these past two years.
Al was a very personable individual who enjoyed painting and conversation. I am thankful for his service to our country and for knowing him.

Al and I met in 1972 at the Avoca Naval Reserve Center, and became close, long-term friends. We shared many great memories of hunting the state game lands in Wayne county and fishing some of the Pennsylvania lakes.
Rest in peace, dear friend. Until we meet again...
