Robert Lance, 60, of Scranton, died Sunday at Geisinger Community Medical Center. His wife of 23 years is Jean Lance. Born in Scranton, son of Fred Jr. and Yvonne Lance, he was a graduate of West Scranton High School and worked with his father in the family business of Lance Fuel for 43 years. He enjoyed fishing and playing pool with his friends. The greatest joy of his life was his grandchildren. He was a loving husband and father who will be deeply missed. Also surviving are his daughter, Stephanie; stepdaughter, Brittany and husband, Anthony; brother, Fred Lance III and wife, Rose; sister, Laurie Jakes and husband, Mark; grandchildren, Eli, The'a, Jayson and Julia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Catherine Lance; and Philip and Emma Ruthkosky. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Jackson St. Baptist Church. Interment, Washburn St. Cemetery, Scranton. Friends may call at the church starting at 10 a.m. Arrangements by Eagen-Hughes Funeral Home, 2908 Birney Ave., Scranton.
