Nancy Swietnicki

 

Nancy Swietnicki, 79, of the Minooka section of Scranton, died Wednesday at home. She was the widow of Frank J. Swietnicki. Born in Scranton, the daughter of the late Donald and Mary Connors Cadden, she was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and a member of Divine Mercy Parish. Prior to retirement, she worked as a cosmetologist. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority, and loved spending many wonderful times together with her sorority sisters and close friends. She enjoyed crafts, decorating, shopping, traveling, designer home tours, cooking, entertaining, home improvement projects and most especially spending time with her grandson, A.J. Surviving are her son, Frank Swietnicki, wife, Stephanie Shandra, and their son, Alexander John (AJ) Swietnicki. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in Divine Mercy Parish, Davis Street, Scranton, with interment following at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9 to 10 a.m. Arrangements by Eagen-Hughes Funeral Home, 2908 Birney Ave., Scranton. The family asks in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.jdrf.org).
