Betty Louryk, 89, passed away surrounded by her family at her home in Dunmore on Monday. She was the widow of Nicholas Louryk, who died March 1, 1964Born June 1, 1925, in Dunmore, daughter of the late John and Nancy D’Ambrosio DiLeo, she was a member of SS. Anthony & Rocco Parish, Dunmore and educated in Dunmore public schools. Betty was a loving and caring woman who made God the centerfold of her life. She attracted people of all ages to her side and was known for her generosity and ability to bring out the best in others.Surviving are five daughters, Nancy Argonish and husband, Michael, Peckville; Linda Leff, Dunmore; Niki Stinson and husband, Gregory, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Mary Ann Collepardi, Lawrenceville, Ga.; Cheryll Gen and husband, Edward, Archbald; two sons, John David Loury and wife, Lisa, Scranton; Mark Loury and wife, Kerri, Goldsboro, N.C.; three brothers, Anthony “Corky” DiLeo, Scranton; Sam DiLeo, Taylor; and John DiLeo Jr., Del Ray Beach, Fla.; a sister, Mary Broadhurst, Lewes, Del.; fourteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jan-Michael Argonish; and a faithful friend, Vito Colucci.The funeral will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the McGoff-Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1401 Capouse Ave., Scranton, PA 18504, with Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Rocco’s Church, 122 Kurtz St., Dunmore, by the Rev. David Cappelloni, pastor, at 9:30 a.m. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, Betty asked that her friends and family remember her by performing random acts of love and kindness. Friends may call Thursday, 4-8 p.m.
