Melvin M. Emanuel, 52, of Scranton, died unexpectedly of a heart condition at home Friday. His loving wife of 27 years is Denise Cawley Emanuel.Born in Scranton, son of the late William and Theresa Baldoni Emanuel, he was a member of St. Ann’s Basilica and a graduate of Lackawanna Trail High School. He was employed as a truck driver for Ironclad.Mel was devoted to his family and enjoyed working on antique cars. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be missed.Also surviving are a son, Melvin Jr., Scranton; a daughter, Mia, at home; a grandson, Melvin III; three brothers, William and wife, Maryjo, Pittston; Ronald and Jerry, both of Scranton; three sisters, Marlene Smith and husband, Eric; and Michalena and Maria Emanuel, all of Greenfield Twp.; nieces, nephews and cousins.He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mona Conway and Theresa Weber.The funeral will be Thursday at 9:45 a.m. from the Thomas J Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann’s St., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St Ann’s Basilica, Scranton. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
