Rose Alice Shoemaker, 84, of Scranton, died Saturday surrounded by her family. She is the wife of the late Robert Shoemaker.Born in Scranton, daughter of the late William and Rose Alice Mills Emanuel, she was a loving and caring woman who loved being surrounded by her family. Rose enjoyed life to the fullest with such a great sense of humor all the time. She was the last living of her siblings.She enjoyed playing cards, dancing and sitting on her swing in the summer time.She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother to everyone who knew her. She was loved and be missed by all.Surviving are a son, Butch Shoemaker, Jessup; three daughters, Theresa Venetz, Vandling; Rose Donvito and Cathy Taylor, Scranton; and 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by a twin sister, several brothers, sons-in-law, James Pettis and David Venetz; and a great-grandson, Anthony Donvito Jr.A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the Davies and Jones Funeral Chapel, 135 S. Main Ave., Scranton. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst. Friends may call Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m.
