John 'Jay' Dymek Jr., 47, of Coventry, RI, formerly of Harrisburg, PA, died Friday in Thornhurst, PA. His beloved wife of 16 years is Patricia Snyder Dymek, formerly of Shamokin, PA. Born in Scranton, son of Rose McLane Dymek and the late John Dymek Sr., he was a member of SS John and Paul Church in Coventry. Jay was a graduate of Bishop Hannan High School and Lackawanna College. He was a dedicated employee of Enterprise Holdings for 22 years and was the Fleet Manager for the Rhode Island Group. Jay enjoyed coaching his children and winter campouts. He was a die-hard New England Patriots fan. A loving and devoted husband, father, and son, he will be deeply missed.Also surviving are three children, Shane Cook of Camp Hill, John 'JJ' Dymek and Emily Dymek; a sister, Christine Dymek Gallacher and husband Michael, Moscow; a mother-in-law, Bernice Snyder, Shamokin; sister-in-law Brenda Snyder Fiorenza and husband Jeff, Northumberland; brother-in-law Christopher Snyder and fiancé Kelly Jo Piaskowski, Northumberland; nieces Jordan Fiorenza, Caitlyn Gallacher and Kendall Snyder; nephews Dominick Fiorenza and Bryce Piaskowski; his dog, Sugar; aunts, uncles, and cousins.He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Ivan Snyder Jr.The funeral will be Tuesday at 10:45am from the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home, Inc., 1240 St Ann St., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St Anns Basilica. Friends may call Monday from 5-8pm.In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Jays honor to the donors favorite charity.
